January - Hawaii
- 10 idyllic days with the Aoki family on the Big Island
- 1 week on Oahu studying for the MCAT, visiting old friends, and camping on the beach
- Siem Reap (via stopovers in Seoul and Bangkok): 4 days recuperating from our travels and visiting Angkor Wat
- Phnom Penh: 2 weeks volunteering with RoseCharities, bonding with fellow volunteers and personal heroes Jan and Bill, and vacationing in Sihanoukville
- 1 week in Ubud, Bali courtesy of my college buddy Poliman
- 1 week living in a hut near Tonsai Beach
- 1 unplanned week in Bangkok, finding random activities to fill our time while waiting for our visas for India
- 5 days in Colaba staying with eccentrics at the Salvation Army
- 2 long days on a sketchy train to the North
- 2 weeks helping Mama Pooja paint her school and put together a beautiful school pageant in the mountains outside Dehradun
- A few days traveling back to Mumbai, stopping in Agra to see the Taj Mahal
- 3 weeks staying with our rescuers, Isaac and Knight, outside of Nairobi and volunteering at a nearby school
- 6 weeks living and volunteering at Victory Family Home of Champions Orphanage, with beloved hosts Isaac, Serena, and Henry, and fellow volunteer Wiola
- 1 memorable day-trip to Bat Island
- A chance to volunteer at the local hospital for several weeks
July to August: Backpacking Europe
- 10 days working on a farm near Auch, France, followed by a flurry of stops in:

- Cinque Terre
- Pisa
- Venice
- Split, Croatia
- Vienna
- Prague
- Niederlauken (Frankfurt)
- Berlin
- Lubeck
- Paris
